Skin problems are quite common these days and can affect people from all ages. As the skin is delicate, the treatments are very delicate as well. Skin tags, warts, moles and dark spots are some of the most common skin conditions, although there are more than 3000 other skin problems you may experience.
Every kind of skin change in color, texture or smell could indicate a potential health problem which needs to be resolved sooner rather than later. Of course, medications are available, but they can be rather harsh on the skin. Nevertheless, there’s a better way to treat these problems – you can prepare simple natural remedies at home which will restore the glow of your skin in no time.
Here are the most effective homemade remedies for some of the most common skin conditions:
Although not a serious threat, moles can make your skin unattractive. When a mole changes its size or color, it may be a sign of cancer. You can get rid of them by using garlic topically and letting it work for 4 hours a day. Another great solution is ACV – it isn’t as effective as garlic, but it can help. Repeat the procedure until the moles fall off.
Raw garlic and garlic extract can help treat moles. You need to clean the area around the mole first with some beeswax or petroleum jelly, then apply the garlic and secure with a bandage. Repeat the treatment every day for best results.
Apple cider vinegar
Apply some ACV on a cotton ball and dab it on your moles, then leave the remedy to work for 8 hours. Repeat the treatment until the moles are gone.
Castor oil and baking soda
Mix the ingredients until you get a paste, then apply it on the mole and secure with a bandage. Leave the remedy to work overnight and rinse with warm water in the morning. Repeat the process every night before going to bed.
Warts occur as a result of the HPV virus and are usually treated cryogenically or with salicylic acid. Some people have had great results by wrapping duct tape over the warts, but using natural remedies for treatment should provide much better results.
Rub the warts with the inside of a banana peel every night until the wart disappears. The process may take a couple of weeks before the wart falls off.
Rubbing raw honey directly on the warts is another natural way of getting rid of them. Just wrap your skin with a bandage afterwards and leave the honey to work. The best thing about honey is that it significantly reduces the chances of the warts’ recurrence.
Apple cider vinegar
Dab some ACV on your warts with a cotton ball, then secure everything with a bandage and leave it to work overnight. Rinse the area with water in the morning and repeat the treatment until the wart falls off.
Garlic is one of the most powerful remedies against warts, and can remove them in only 2 weeks. Just rub some garlic juice twice a day on the wart directly, then wrap the area and you will soon see the results.
3. Skin tags
Skin tags usually appear on the neck, upper chest, underarms and eyelids and are caused by skin rubbing. They are removed cryogenically or with tying off or cutting, but they can also be treated with natural remedies as well.
Apple cider vinegar
ACV works against skin tags as well. Just soak a cotton ball in the liquid and apply it on the tags, then secure with a bandage and leave it to work for a couple of hours. The process should be repeated for a couple of days until the tag falls off.
Tea tree oil
Add a couple of drops of the oil on a cotton ball soaked in water, then apply it on the affected area and secure with a bandage. Repeat the process 2-3 times a day for a month and be persistent until you see the results.
Baking soda and castor oil
Make a paste of the ingredients and apply it on the tags 2-3 times a day and secure with a bandage. You can keep the paste in the fridge for a maximum of 48 hours.
4. Dark spots
Dark spots usually appear on the face or limbs. The cause is still not determined, although some experts relate it to liver problems and excessive sun exposure. These discolored patches on the skin can be treated with many natural remedies which work well if you are persistent.
Lemon is a great skin bleacher that can fade the spots pretty well. Just soak a cotton ball in the mixture and rub it on the affected areas twice a day for best results.
Juice or blend one onion and apply the juice directly on the spot. Leave it to work for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with water and repeat the process until you see results.
Apply raw Aloe Vera on the dark spots and leave it to work for half an hour. You can grow the plant at home and use the raw gel on the affected areas.
Mix some horseradish with vinegar and apply the mixture on the dark spots and they will vanish soon.
Vitamin C serum
Apply homemade vitamin C serum on the dark spots and you will soon notice the incredible results.
5. Cleaning clogged pores
When the pores of the skin get clogged by too much dirt or excess oil, the skin can’t breathe properly which can lead to numerous problems. Here’s some natural remedies that can clean the pores effectively:
Make a paste of sugar and lemon, then rub it on your skin and massage in circular motion. Rinse with warm water in the end and repeat the process every day for best results.
Steaming is a very effective remedy for clogged pores. Put your face over boiling water with a towel over your head, then steam for 10-15 minutes and rinse with warm water in the end. To remove excess dirt from your face, you should clean your skin with vinegar
